The short version

kudoSnap is a Slack app built and run by one person. It is free for workspaces under 500 people, there is nothing to cancel, and removing it from Slack stops everything immediately. Nothing here tries to take away a right you would otherwise have.

Who can install it

Whoever installs kudoSnap needs permission to add apps to that Slack workspace, and is confirming they have it. Installing affects everyone in the workspace — the app begins sending each person one question on weekdays — so it is not a decision to make on someone else's behalf without telling them.

You must be old enough to use Slack in your country, since kudoSnap only works through it.

What it costs

Free for workspaces under 500 people, with no card, no trial and no seat count. That is the plan rather than an introductory offer, and it does not expire.

Two paid plans are described on what it costs and neither exists yet. Nothing you can do today costs money. If that changes for something you are already using, you will be told before it does, and choosing not to pay will never mean losing access to recognition you have already received.

What kudoSnap does with your workspace

It reads the public channels it can see to work out who works with whom, reads your workspace's member list, and sends direct messages. It requests six Slack permissions and no more; they are listed in full, with what each one does not allow, on who sees what.

It cannot read your messages. There is no permission requested that returns message content, and no text input anywhere in the product — so there is no user-written content in the system to moderate, misuse, or hand over.

What you can expect us not to do

These are commitments rather than descriptions, and they are the same ones the rest of this site makes:

• No ranking of people, on any plan. No leaderboard, no “most recognized” list, no per-person figure visible to anyone but that person.
• No manager view. No cut of the data scoped to one person's reports, at any price.
• No export of anyone's votes, in any format, for you or for a workspace admin.
• Your workspace's data is not sold, and is not used to train anything.

Leaving

Remove kudoSnap from Slack and every message stops immediately — that is Slack revoking a token, and it works whether or not anyone is at this end. Erasing what is already stored is a separate manual step: email hello@kudosnap.com and the workspace and everything in it is deleted within seven days, confirmed in writing. Automatic deletion on removal is being built and is not done.

What this is not

kudoSnap is a recognition product and nothing in it is an evaluation of anybody. It should not be used as an input to performance review, promotion, compensation or any other employment decision, and it is built so that it cannot be: there is no ranking, no manager view, no export, and every question asks who is good at something, so there is no negative signal in the data to find.

If your organisation intends to use it that way, it is the wrong tool, and we would rather say so here than after you have installed it.

The honest part about reliability

One person builds and runs this. There is no uptime guarantee, no support SLA, and no promise that it will exist in five years. What there is instead, written down on who made this: if kudoSnap is going to shut down, every workspace gets at least thirty days' notice by direct message to the people using it.

The service is provided as it is, without warranties. Because it is free, and because there is no way to get data out of it, the realistic worst case is that it stops sending messages — so the liability that could be owed is limited to what you paid, which is nothing.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and anyone with kudoSnap installed is told in Slack. Quiet edits to a document nobody re-reads are not a way to change an agreement.
