kudoSnap is built and run by one person — the design, the code, the questions, and the email address at the bottom of this page. When you write to support, that's who answers.
He also makes Italian word puzzles for his 93-year-old grandmother, which is roughly the same instinct: small, specific things that make someone's day, made by hand.
Why it exists
Most people at most jobs are appreciated more than they know and hear about roughly none of it. The information exists — your coworkers genuinely do think you're good at things — it just never travels. Every tool built to fix that turned recognition into a performance: public channels, points, badges, a leaderboard nobody asked for.
kudoSnap is a bet that the fix is smaller than that. Ask a quiet question, deliver the answer privately, and get out of the way.
What happens if he stops
Fair question, and the honest answer is that a one-person product is a real dependency. So here's the commitment, written down before anyone has to ask for it — and, for each one, who is actually guaranteeing it.

- If kudoSnap is going to shut down, every workspace gets at least 30 days’ notice by DM to the people using it. Not by email: kudoSnap has never held an email address for anyone in your workspace, because it doesn’t ask Slack for the permission that returns them. Slack is the only way it can reach you.

- Then the workspace’s data is deleted. Votes are stored linked to who cast them, because the reveal needs both ends — what doesn’t exist is a way to get them out.

- No export, in any format, for a workspace admin or for him. So there is no scenario where your employees’ votes end up somewhere else — and kudoSnap isn’t being built to sell to an HR analytics company, because the things a buyer like that would be buying are the things that don’t exist.
- Slack
- Removing kudoSnap from Slack stops every DM immediately — that’s Slack revoking the token, and it works whether or not anyone is at this end. It is the one commitment here that is not something a person does.

- Erasing what’s already stored is a separate step and a manual one: email the address below and the workspace and everything in it is deleted within seven days, confirmed in writing. Automatic deletion on removal is being built and isn’t done.
