What it costs

Nothing, if your company has fewer than 500 people. That's the whole sentence — no trial, no card, no seat count. Only pay if you want insights from the trends at an individual or company level.

The plans

One of these you can use today. The other two are being built.

  • Free

    Available now

for any company under 500 people

    Everyone in your workspace.

The whole recognition loop, for everyone in the workspace, with nothing held back and no card required.

    • One question a weekday for everyone, and ignoring it costs nothing
    • Every recognition DM, unsigned
    • Finding out who praised you — free the first time, and it never costs money after that
    • All twelve facets and your cards, on kudoSnap's Home tab in Slack
    • The workspace dashboard while the beta runs — and whoever can see it, everyone in the workspace sees the same one
    • Publishing a card to your workspace, if you choose to

Free during beta · no card · remove it in two clicks

  • Your full profile

    Coming soon

    once, yours for good

    One person, paying for themselves.

The assembled read of everything your coworkers have said about you, and the name behind every recognition you've ever had.

    • Your profile written up as one piece, rather than twelve counts
    • Reveal every recognition you've received, including the old ones
    • Who has recognized you most, and for what
    • Your full facet breakdown over time, not just the strongest three
    • Yours across jobs — it isn't tied to this workspace
    See what one looks like

Otto's, as an example — invented data, and the report itself is still being built.

  • Business

    Coming soon

    per person, per month

A company that wants to read the whole room.

What your company notices, cut by department, plus the controls a real rollout needs.

    • The admin portal, with engagement metrics for the whole workspace
    • A company report: what this place notices, and whether recognition is reaching people — patterns, never a person
    • The same report cut by department, and how recognition moves between teams
    • Questions customized to fit your company, alongside the standard sixty
    • Message cadence you control — which days, how often, and who's in scope
    • A shared Slack channel with the person who builds it

An example workspace — invented data, and the report itself is still being built.

Worth separating two things, because the rest of the site says free during beta and this page says free under 500 people. The Free plan is the plan — the loop, for everyone in the workspace, and it isn't going anywhere. What is free during beta is the two plans underneath it, which nobody is being charged for yet because there is nothing to charge for yet.

So: nothing you can do today costs anyone money. And whatever plan you end up on, leaving costs nothing either — removing kudoSnap takes two clicks in Slack and stops everything immediately, because that is Slack revoking a token rather than us processing a cancellation.

Over 500 people? Then the plan that fits you is the one that doesn't exist yet. kudoSnap doesn't count your headcount and nothing switches off — email us and we'll work something out rather than leave you guessing.

What paying never buys

The obvious thing to sell a company for $3 a head is a way to look at individual people. That is the one thing not for sale, on any plan.

  • No manager view, on any plan
  • No ranking of people, on any plan
  • No export of anyone's votes, on any plan
  • Nobody but the coworker you praised — never anyone else, on any plan

This isn't restraint we're promising to keep. The moment recognition can be filtered down to one manager's reports, it becomes something you can be measured with — and then nobody answers honestly, and there is nothing left worth selling. Paying buys a better read of the company. It never buys a closer look at a person.

What happens when this changes

Nobody gets surprised by a bill.

If anything starts costing money, every workspace hears it in Slack first — a DM to the people using kudoSnap, including whoever installed it — with enough notice to decide, and never as a charge that simply appears. Slack is the only way we can reach you: kudoSnap has never held an email address for anyone in your workspace.

Nothing that works today stops working without warning. If you want that in writing before you install, email hello@kudosnap.com and you'll get it in writing.

What we don't do

We don't sell data, and there's nothing here to sell — no messages, no email addresses, and no behavioral profile that means anything outside your own workspace. We don't run ads. The servers are close to free at this size; what isn't free is one person's time, which is the honest reason there will eventually be something to pay for.

One thing does cross a company line, and you should hear it here rather than notice it. Once ten people in a workspace have found out who praised them, a coworker at another company you share a Slack channel with can turn up as one of the four names. At most one of the four — and what they receive names your workspace, never the person who picked them.

If it goes away

It's one person building this, so it's a fair question. You'd get at least 30 days' notice by DM, and then the workspace's data is deleted. Votes are stored linked to who cast them, because the reveal needs both ends — what doesn't exist is a way to get them out: no export, in any format, for a workspace admin or for us. So there's no scenario where your employees' votes end up somewhere else.

The uncomfortable version of that answer, including which of these commitments depend on a person rather than on the software, is on who made this.

Questions before you decide? hello@kudosnap.com — one person, usually the same day.
